TEXT FROM II EZRA.

(France [probably Paris], ca. 1260). 158 x 103 mm. (6 1/4 x 4"). Double column, 43 lines of text in a fine gothic pearl script.

Rubrics in red, capitals struck in red, running titles in red and blue, and WITH A SEVEN-LINE HISTORIATED INITIAL SHOWING JOSIAh CENSING THE ALTAR IN JERUSALEM FOR PASSOVER. A touch of wrinkling and mild soiling, the blue of the initial somewhat eroded, but a generally well-preserved leaf with an initial that is still charming.
