Joints a bit darkened, bindings with a few other trivial defects, one map slightly foxed, otherwise clean and bright internally, and very nearly fine overall; a most attractive set on the shelf of these political and economic histories of the ancient world, by the German scholar Heeren (1760-1842), accounts "that materially aided the study of history in England," (DNB), offered here in the English version by Oxford historian David Talboys (1789-1840).
